News about the Pre Season

Last night Club President Dyson Hore-Lacy announced a new major sponsor for the 2008 Season.

A season planning session will be now held on the 12th of March after training.

At its last meeting the committee gave its unanimous support to President Dyson Hore-Lacy's initiative to canvas the idea of establishing a coterie at Old Trinity.

 After the fantastic start the club had prior to Xmas it is important to maintain the momentum.  Brett and the Coaching panel were thrilled with the numbers and progress achieved prior to Xmas. Now it is important that we lift the bar even higher.  We start next Monday, 14 January at 6pm at Bulleen and continue each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday until the first practice match in March.

 The VAFA has released the draw for A Grade for season 2008.  OTs kick off the season on Saturday, April 12 at "Harry Trott" against Collegians.  Our first home game is the following week, April 19, against last year's Grand Finalist Old Brighton.

Our 9^th Annual Corporate Golf Day was again held at Australia ’s # 1 golf & country club, The Heritage.

 With 90+ guests, sensational weather, and of course, the condition of the new Henley track, all made the event our best ever – congratulations to all, in particular  to Doug Frood whose tireless work over the years has made this event the success it is.

Pre season began last week and our coaching staff couldn't be happier.  There have been lots of new faces, several  players from 2006 have returned and our overseas travellers are back.
