In a further changing of the guard, Dyson Hore-Lacy has assumed  the Club Presidency following the Annual General Meeting.  Best known for his vigorous defence of the independence of the Fitzroy Football Club, Dyson brings a wealth of experience in football administration to the role, and is ideally suited to lead the revitalization of Old Trinity.  For details of the 2008 Committee click here.

Brett Chandler, our Senior Coach, is gearing up for a big pre season.  Brett is looking forward to meeting all players for the first time on Monday 19th November at Bulleen at 6pm. On the first night he will introduce the 2008 coaching panel and outline plans for the coming season before conducting the first session. Attached is Brett's letter to all players.

The punters got it right as the Best & Fairest favorites in all teams duly won their respective awards.  The awards were handed out at the annual Dinner / Dance and Presentation Night held for a capacity crowd at Hawthorn Receptions on Friday, 28/9/2007. To complement his VAFA Best & Fairest runner-up and Rising Star awards, Brendan Iezzi (pictured with Neil Weatherson) won the Seniors Best & Fairest and Weatherson Medal from Andrew Ramsden and Andy Cultrera.  James Webster was a clear winner of the Reserves award from Tim Delphine while Tim Cade had a similar margin over George Plain for the Thirds award.  It was a much closer contest in the Under-19s as equal runners-up Riley McDonald and Rob Humann were hot on the heels of the winner, Dayne Coulsen-Hoffacker.  For details of all awards on the night click here.

While the smart money for Hayden Heta was vindicated when the big Old Ivanhoe ruckman won the VAFA A Grade Best & Fairest award (the J N Woodrow medal), Old Trinity players were also in the spotlight.  Not only was Brendan Iezzi (pictured left) equal runner-up for the medal, just one vote adrift of Heta, he was also awarded the VAFA Rising Star award for the most promising Under-21 player.  Andy Cultrera (pictured right) was the leading A Grade goal kicker for the second consecutive season. 

Umpires awarded the three votes to Old Trinity players in seven matches - to Brendan on four occasions (Rounds 6,10,15 and 16), to Andrew Ramsden (Round 3), Tom Eckersley (Round 8) and Andrew Hore-Lacy (Round 17).  In other Sections, George Plain topped the umpire votes for Old Trinity Thirds, while Riley McDonald and Rob Humann were equal top for the Under-19s.

Old Trinity was comprehensively beaten at Bulleen by flag favourites, Old Brighton, but have survived in A Grade for the 2008 season.   Andrew Ramsden (pictured) would have hoped for a better result to celebrate his 250th game.  Following their defeat by Old Scotch, St Bernards will join Old Haileybury in B Grade in 2008.  The Reserves too were outclassed by ladder leader, Old Brighton.  Having been runners-up in B Grade in 2006, Old Brighton has clearly found the secret to A Grade success.  For details click here.  This is the final match report for season 2007.   

In a thrilling match played in perfect conditions at Chelsworth Park, a fast-finishing Old Trinity just failed to cement their place in A Grade for 2008 going down to Old Ivanhoe by five points.  Cam McCasker (pictured) was among Trinity's best.  The Reserves were no match for their opponents while the Under -19s, after trailling at three-quarter time, blitzed Bentleigh by 53 points.  For details click here. 

In a performance that had their supporters struggling for superlatives, Trinity led St Bernards at every change, and by 85 points at the final siren.  In doing so, they vaulted over both St Bernards and Old Scotch on the ladder with two rounds of the competition season to play.  The Reserves however were never in the hunt while the Under-19s went down by 18 points to second-placed Old Essendon after Riley McDonald kicked six goals.  For details click here.

The Old Trinity community was saddened to learn of the passing of the Club's founding Secretary, George Dwyer.  His funeral service will be held at the W D Rose Chapel, 139 Marriage Road, Brighton on Tuesday, 21/8/07, at 10.30 am.
