A quick summary of the practice games that were played against De La Salle on Sunday
The day started with the Under Nineteens who took on the reigning flag holder from the Premier section. The boys started well and the opposition was stunned by intensity of the Trinity boys. This intensity allowed the boys to take a nice lead into the half time break. In the second half the lack of numbers in the heat hurt the nineteens and they ran out of steam. Better Players for the day included Robbo, Humann and Ed.
The reserves started in a similar vein to the 19's with several great tackles by Benny Chan and Andy Hii. These efforts seemed to strike the boys into action. The work rate was very good right across the ground in the first half. From Charlie at Full Back to Spencer Cole in the Ruck all players were battling hard. However a lapse of concentration in the third quarter allowed De La to kick three unanswered goals. In a spirited last quarter the Trinity boys outscored De La and finished the game on a high note. Among the better players for four quarters were
Del and the Gambler.
In the seniors the boys came out of the blocks and worked well into a two goal breeze in the first quarter. The attack on the ball was great and the forward were able to convert when the ball was brought in quickly. In the second quarter was much of the same with the endeavour being fantastic. This work enabled the team to take in a small lead at half time. In the third quarter the boys outscored De La against the breeze and played their best footy for the day. In the quarter the boys once again outscored De La to run out comfortable winner. Some of the new recruits in Jordan, Charlie and Brett performed well.
Thanks to all the people who assisted the playing group on what was a stinking day for footy.
